Home Cello Robert Schumann

Cello Concerto in A minor , Op. 129

by Robert Schumann

Cello Romantic Concerto ~26 min professional

Composed in just two weeks in 1850, Schumann's only cello concerto is a deeply personal, through-composed work in which the three movements flow without pause. The orchestration is intentionally restrained to let the cello sing. Though initially neglected, it is now recognized as one of the great Romantic concertos and a staple of the repertoire.
