Clarinet Concerto in A major, K. 622

by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

ClarinetClassicalConcerto~28 minadvanced

Mozart's last instrumental concerto, written in October 1791 for his friend Anton Stadler and the basset clarinet. The Adagio second movement is one of the most serene and beautiful slow movements Mozart ever composed. The concerto exploits the clarinet's extraordinary range and tonal palette, from the chalumeau register's warmth to the clarion register's brilliance.
