Home Piano Frédéric Chopin

Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9 No. 2

by Frédéric Chopin

PianoRomanticNocturne~5 minintermediate

The most famous of Chopin's twenty-one nocturnes, composed when he was just twenty years old. A singing right-hand melody floats over a gently rocking left-hand accompaniment, with increasingly elaborate ornamentation on each return. Its accessibility and beauty make it one of the first Chopin pieces many pianists learn.
