Cello Suite No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007
by Johann Sebastian Bach
The first of six suites for unaccompanied cello. Composed during Bach's tenure as Kapellmeister in Cothen, the suite consists of six movements: Prelude, Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Menuets I & II, and Gigue. The Prelude is especially famous for its flowing arpeggiated figures.
